Sandra Bullock is one of my favorites. I just think she’s breath-taking and she’s so ridiculously normal that I want to smack her in the mouth with kisses.

Last I heard she was wasted at some fancypants party – I knew we would be best friends if we ever met.

Jim Carrey has a new film out called I Love You Phillip Morris. It has received great reviews and he recently talked candidly about his own internalized homophobia and his decisions to take the role, as well as his feelings and thoughts about having a sexual on screen relationship with Ewan McGregor:

“If I were to be really honest, there was a homophobic voice that rose up inside me that said, ‘Gee, this is kind of scary. First of all, what will people think, and second of all, will I like it? Will I like kissing Ewan? How will that affect me? There were a few people in my world who said, ‘Are you sure you want to do this?’ And that still exists. I said ‘Absolutely’ because, sexual preference aside, it is a story that is so compelling and interesting and different. It’s about humanity. It is about you love who you love. And love is love. And that’s it….”

When discussing their onscreen kisses : “Ewan was a bit prickly. I think we have some great sexual chemistry on screen. I think there is definitely a lot of smoldering,’yum, yum, eat-him-up’ vibe.”

When asked, “What are you doing for the gay community?” Carrey replied: “That was a tough one. Here’s a movie about love and tolerance. And that’s something. And I just see it as an internal job. I think people are changing internally. So we all learn to love ourselves, we will love each other. We are a bunch of mirrors out there. If something bothers me about this guy in the front row, it’s me.”

His quote about hate/acceptance being internal is so very true. A lot of what we blindly hate in others we see in ourselves. Well crap – you’ve seen how hateful I am so you can only imagine how much I hate myself

So the general gossip public is up in arms today because Shia La Bouf walked around with a paper bag over his head and a bag around his little wrist brace for no apparent reason whatsoever. I kinda found it funny, excuse me Perez!

Kevin Bacon needs work!

Kevin (who I was going to write a post on later this week) and his lovely ladyfriend Kyra Sedgwick were swindled by the lame Bernie Madoff. They say they lost everything, well, not their houses or checking accounts but everything else. It’s unbelievable. Kevin told InStyle – “We’ll march on. We have to. There’s nothing you can do about it. You can’t change what happened. Things could be worse. You remember that, and you go on with your life. I didn’t see it coming. I don’t have anything lined up right now, but I need to work, for obvious reasons.“

I really hope things work out for them. I was just thinking about writing a post on my favorite celebrity couples – after Michelle and Heath split and Ryan and Rachel finished (although they’re back together!!) Kevin and Kyra are my favorite. They’re genuinely happy. I dig the shit out of it.

I’ll hire him to come hang out with me. Then I can only have 1 degree of knowing Kevin Bacon. Right now it sits at:

1. I grew up with Erin Cahill (she was my sisters best friend)

2. She’s about to be in a movie called Demoted with Sean Astin (RUDY!!)

He plays Rene Lenier in Trueblood on HBO. The show is based off the Sookie Stackhouse series of books, all about Sookie (a telepathic waitress virgin) who falls in love with a vampire named Bill in her town of Bon Temps, LA. In the series vampires have come out of the night and want to live full lives like any other humans, so there is this species clash constantly, but they don’t hide who they are and they don’t kill humans anymore (a Japanese scientist has created a new form of synthetic blood “true blood” and they drink that). At least they aren’t supposed to. I hate vampire related material, always have, always will – except this show. It’s ALWAYS entertaining and has very few drawbacks. Even those it did have (a best friend with the WORST southern accent EVER) are slowly becoming unnoticeable. Anyways, back to hot pants Michael. He only says a few lines at a time and sometimes its hard to understand his Cajun accent – I have no clue what it is about that guy but I swear every time I just end up nude in front of the TV. This can be a problem because I normally always watch Trueblood with MattyB. Yikes!

Plot:
Jerry Shaw is an unmotivated guy who is doing nothing with his life and has no money. He’s working at Copy Mart and finds out that his twin brother, Ethan – who worked for the Air Force, is dead. After attending the funeral, Jerry’s bank account is filled with money and he comes home to an apartment filled with terrorist contraband. He receives a phone call telling him to flee the premises but doesn’t, leaving him to be arrested by the FBI. While in custody he gets another chance to escape and off he goes. At the same time, Rachel, a single mother puts her son on a train to DC to play at the Kennedy Center. She is out with friends and receives a phone call telling her to get into an unmarked car and drive or her son will die. The two come together, she picks him up and they follow the directions of a mysterious female voice on the phone. The voice is everywhere, utilizing the electronics and surveillance systems we have come to depend on as a society to track the two and help them on their way. We find out Ethan Shaw may not have been the soldier he had been claiming to be and the two struggle to stay alive while traveling across the country to find out why they have been activated.

My Take:
Ok, so I kinda had decided I didn’t REALLY want to see this but I’m super glad I did. I thought everything was perfectly explained and possible while not necessarily being plausible. The movie kept you entertained, it was second to second action, very few lulls or down points. I think it did its job and was MUCH better than I expected. Sure, an unmarked military aircraft flying through a traffic tunnel is a little unbelievable – but it could happen. Sure, Shia LaBeouf isn’t twins, but he could be! Sure, Rachel’s child looked half black but his father was blonde hair blue eyes, but it might have been from a previous marriage! Also – can you swim in Liquid Nitrogen? Cause I didn’t think so. But I guess it could be….you guessed it….POSSIBLE!

Verdict?
Only pay full price if you REALLY want to see it, otherwise snatch that shit up matinee style or netflix the crap outta it. Dont forget REDBOX DVD!
