New Jersey’s Board of Cosmetology and Hairstyling is considering a proposal to ban Brazilian bikini waxes.

Crazy right?

Apparently there were TWO women who complained of injuries sustained from wax jobs that put them in the hospital so the board is now making the serious decision. Waxing your crotch has actually always been illegal in the state but the statute wasn’t explicitly spelled. This proposal will make it blatantly clear by outright banning waxing of your genital areas. The board is set to meet, and vote on the ban on Brazilians, on April 14th.

If you live in Jersey you might want to book one before then…might be gone for a long time.

I personally find this a bit ridiculous. Ain’t no one telling me I cant wax if I want to wax. I suppose I’d just drive into NY once every 2 months to get it done. Sounds like the only logical idea to me. Or burn down where the vote will be held. That would work too.

Not to be all fanatical but I want to know how a post that clearly depicts someone making a comment that implies Obama when they are shooting a MONKEY to death got passed a string of editors without anyone stopping and thinking.

I get it, the guy is clearly making light of Travis the ape that tore off a woman’s face last week…but why the stimulus bill joke then? All that you can get from this cartoon is that Obama is a crazed ape who rips peoples faces off because he’s so into this package. (Pause). Did this guy not know that being referred to as monkeys is KINDA a sore spot for African Americans? I mean, I know that…how did none of these cartoon editors not know that?

It’s distasteful and the artist can say whatever he wants about it was a joke about the monkey not our president, that he put the stimulus part in there to make light of the monkey’s behavior, but the truth is that we already get it. We understand what he was trying to say….it just wasn’t funny.

You know my friend was bartending at an event in DC during the inauguration and he said all of the sudden, Val Kilmer walks passed him. He was so dickmatized that he stood there staring open mouth at Val until he finally made eye contact with him and said “How ya doin’ kid?” and then walked away.

Personally, I wouldn’t even hit At First Sight Val Kilmer, let alone the tubble of bubble state he currently resides in. WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?! People dont start taking you seriously for a run for government official just because you managed to eat a baby hippo.

Not really feeling the shoe but I do love the little “poem” thats on the packaging.

So I want to know what is covered in this stimulus package. I refuse to blindly support something without at least trying to get a significant portion of the facts.

I’m sad to see that schools arent getting as much as I would like them to. I dont like knowing that there are schools unable to provide education to children all throughout the US – thats UNACCEPTABLE. We are the nation to learn at, we cant let that fall to the wayside.

Ok here’s the deal: I do this not to mock the man, I do this because he’s hilarious – whether its intended or not. He’s got a cute little face and I do have a soft spot in my heart for George W because at the end of the day, all politics aside, I think he would be awesome to have a conversation about something random with. Sue me.

Slowly but surely.

Friday (Jan 23rd) President Obama struck down a rule that prohibited U.S. Money from funding international family-planning clinics that consider abortion an option and/or provide counseling for women who want or have received an abortion. Defending his actions he said he doesn’t want family planning to be used as a “political wedge” and that the debate over it was “stale and fruitless”. He plans to end the politicization of the issue and start to work on improving the U.S. aid for family planning around the world.

The policy was initiated by Regan in ‘84, canceled by Clinton immediately in ‘93 and then reinstated immediately by Bush in 2001. It’s only fitting its the first thing he kicks to the curb, right? The group Population Action international agree with Obama’s decision and say that it will “save women’s lives around the world.” Republicans immediately criticized this choice – “Not even waiting a week, the new administration has acted to funnel U.S. tax dollars to abortion providers overseas,” Rep. Tom Price, R-Georgia, said in a written statement. “This is a stunning reversal of course from the president’s campaign statements that he hoped to reduce the number of abortions. Just a day after thousands of Americans came to Washington to celebrate the principle of life, President Obama has made it clear that reducing abortions is not one of his priorities.”

I think that this is a bold move and it says a lot. I do like the Obama doesn’t fear the criticism that comes with the job and he seems to be following through with the majority of the promises he made (Just please help the LBGT community, DON’T BACK DOWN!). I think this step is another huge sign that we want to become part of the world community again, that we want to be an aid not a hindrance of peace and equality abroad.

Nice job, Prez.

Obama reverses abortion funding policy

Man, I love anyone who can shut those crazy fanatics up for more than 10 seconds.

Most of these people unfortunately are blind followers of some book written long ago (a book that, mind you, doesnt outright say its especially wrong to kill unborn children – in fact there are several parts where god does kill a fetus or talks about it). They have no clue what they want, they just know what they dont want, which is abortion and normally thats because every Sunday at church their pastor tells them to think that way. I respect people who can be honest and upfront about their beliefs and why they feel that way but people like this make me sick – you’re fighting a point for fightings sake. You arent god, you never will be – let him take care of it.

EVEN BETTER QUESTION -

If a woman is forced to give birth to a baby because abortion is illegal and then in turn that baby grows up to be a homosexual – will you still fight so hard for his/her rights? Will you even care?

Doubtful.

I’ll start this out by saying that our freedom of speech and our ability to voice our opinions on any given subject is a beautiful, sacred right. That being said – people like this make me want to allow the government to tell people to shut the fuck up. They turn this:

Crazies will be crazies but luckily Krispy Kreme didn’t bite to this obvious bait. It’s words, it meant nothing more than the right we all had as Americans to have a choice in who our president was – there was no thought of dead babies, I swear. I dont like how these zealots twist words and turn something wonderful (although me thinks this has to do with the fact that they probably aren’t too happy about Obama being elected in the first place) into something absolutely stupid.

Shut up, go back to church and let me eat my fetus covered donuts in peace.
