McAvoymyface please. Mmm.

I know – he’s beautiful.

Oh James McAvoy – you had me in the first 10 seconds of the trailer for wanted. How could I overlook that face as you played Mr. Tumnus in The Chronicles of Narnia?!

So he’s talented. You all have to know that in some way shape or form. He’s one of those actors who somehow got stuck in not so popular movies and tends to do movies he feels connected to somehow rather than settle for big blockbusters that will give him ridiculous amounts of publicity. Apparently though it paid off – staring in Atonement in 2007 was the catapult from sidescreen to front screen for this amazingly handsome yet still SO talented man.

Unlike most American actors – he’s classically trained. He attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama when he was younger. He’s got the stage resume to back up his acting skills as well – he’s played characters in The Tempest (Ferdinand), Romeo and Juliet (Romeo), West Side Story (Riff), Beauty and the Beast, and several other lesser know plays.

His first big break was in Band of Brothers – that followed a unit of soldiers during the war. His next break came in 2004 when he played the doofy brother of Paul Bettany’s character in Wimbledon. The first time I honestly remember seeing him was in Rory O’Shea was here, he played one of two disabled roomates who fight for the affection of their nurse/helper. Finally Chronicals of Narnia called and he was off – next doing The Last King of Scotland, then appearing in Penelope with Christina Ricci in 2006 (though the film wasn’t released until 2008). The year 2007 brought two important roles that solidified my belief in this guy – Becoming Jane (so sad!) and Atonement. Finally 2008 gave James what he has said he always wanted – to be famous out of recognition of his good work – Wanted SMASHED into theatres in June and has been the talk of Hollywood since. Other forthcoming roles include movies like The Last Station, Wanted 2 (in talks), Gnomeo and Juliet, and most importantly…he has been tipped to play Bilbo Baggins in the LOTR prequel, The Hobbit.

I don’t know much about him other than his love for acting, that he’s got a sexy British accent and he looks good with his shirt off…but I like him.
He’s gonna be HUGE I think – he’s already started his upward journey to the top, he better not FUCK UP THE HOBBIT! (he wont!)
