Amazing People Still Exist.

Don’t you wish you worked for this guy?

Leonard Abess Jr. sold a majority stake in his Miami-based City National Bank last November. $60 Million of the proceeds he pushed right back into the hands of his employees. He basically took $60 million out of his own pocket and handed it to each person on the staff (399 to be exact) and he even tracked down 72 ex-employees to give bonuses to as well.

Depending on the length of time they worked for the company and the quality of service they gave, their bonuses amounted to tens of thousands of dollars. In some cases it exceeded $100K.

What a selfless amazing man. You can tell he was just being a genuinely good person because he did not publicize what he did, he just had envelopes handed out (he wasnt even present when they were given) and called it a day. When asked what motivated him he gave this quote:

”Those people who joined me and stayed with me at the bank with no promise of equity — I always thought some day I’m going to surprise them,” he said. “I sure as heck don’t need [the money].”

I’m sure we all just wish we could have someone who values us at our jobs the way this man obviously valued his employees.
